The uses of 'will' and 'be going to' are not so clear cut as many teachers seem to think, but these are probably wrong in your teacher's view:

5. They _____are going to_______ at about 4 in the afternoon. (to arrive)
10. Look at the clouds! It _____is going to___________ soon. (to rain)

Ahh, I know what you mean. The two sentences express a prediction and that's why we should use the will future, right?

Read more about the use of `will` and `going to` would help you out. As for me, they are for future and have different meanings.

They have different intimations, but native speakers often do not notice and do not comply. 'Be going' to is used more often than 'will', and sometimes usurps its meaning.

I found a website where it says that when there is visual evidence we use the going-to future. If you can look at the clouds, this means there is visual evidence, doesn't it? So why would it be wrong in that sentence?

It is not, but the teacher may think so because rain does not have volition.
