Hi,

I've tried to answer some of the listening excercises, I found some of them confusing because it seems to me that there is one speaker in the audio recording while there are more than one speaker indicated in the questions. I know that the speaker changes his voice when moving from a person to another but it's still confusing. I don't want to appear as criticizing you, of course not. I like this site, it's the best. I appreciate your efforts, but I wanted to let you know about this, you may fix it.

Regards,
Manal

Hello Manal,

Thanks a lot for your feedback. Yes, at this point the audio recordings are spoken by one person which adds a little extra challenge for you to sharpen your listening comprehension skills. I recommend you listen to each recording several times so you can improve your comprehension. When you listen to audio books you will find that all the characters are spoken or rather read by one single person.

Let me know what you think.
Regards,
Torsten

Dear Toresten,

You are totally right. Realizing that the aim is comprehensin, not just listening, made me admit that its a the right way to let the learner improve his listening skills. It forces me to understand the entire conversation in the recording not parts of it.I used to read the questions before listening then I listen, during listening I concentrate on the needed answers. I use the same technique with my students, this not right it will limit the benefit of listening. Having this experince will force me to fix my way of learning and teaching as well.

Thanks a lot
Manal
