Hi. I'm Andre Luiz. I'm from Brazil. I've been studying English by myself. in fact, I've never had an English teacher. It's really boring to study alone. You have not only to ask all the questions, but also answer all of them. Picture the situation: I ask to myself "what's your name?" and I myself answer "I'm Andre". It takes at least two people in order to have a (good) conversation. I think this place is a good opportunity to practice what we have learned and learn more from other people in a more pleasant (effortless) way.

Hi, everybody:
I'm 51 now. I left school some decades ago. When I decided to study English again, I had forgotten all I had learned in school. It was as if I had never had an English teacher before.
I'm not a smart guy. I'm not good at my own language, let alone English. I decided to study English by myself because I think English courses (including schools), in general, don't teach you to speak English. They teach you basically English grammar and how to get along well with your tests. I know a lot of guys who knows a lot of English and are not able to communicate in English because they have learned English with their eyes (studying grammar) and not with their ears (Listening and Talking).
Moreover, It is difficult for anybody to talk about feelings in their own language and it is more difficult to talk about them in a language that you don't know the "weight" or the "shadows" of the words.
Any help will be welcome.

PS.: when I get a new Mic (mine is broken) I'll leave a "VOICE MESSAGE". I also need to practice my speaking.
