I teach English to live-in students at our farmstay in Australia.

Over the years I've had many students come to me after they have been to language schools in Australia and felt disappointed at how little they have learnt. They say they have learnt much more in a few weeks with me than sometimes months at language school, and wished they had known about me at the beginning.

I find it frustrating, as I love teaching English but have not found many effective and affordable ways to let potential students know about me. Usually they hear of me through a friend, or accidently find my website on the internet kielfa.bravehost.com. Most paid advertising I've done so far has been wasted money.

My method of teaching is mainly activity based. This means that students live as part of our family and join in all our daily work and social activities. I teach them about cooking, gardening, farm life, the natural environment, craft-making and lots of other things while teaching them English. I take them on excursions to the natural beauty spots around our area, and to join in the social activities of our community. Every activity teaches them new skills, while they enjoyably learn the vocabulary that goes with what we are doing - a most effective way to remember more easily. It's nothing like being in school, yet progress in learning can be fast for those who are keen to learn.

Of course we also spend lots of time in sit-down English study and everything is organised so the student can learn exactly what they want and need to learn. I teach conversational, business and special purpose English, based on each individual student's interests and needs.

The maximum number of students I accept at a time is three, but often only have only one, so there's lots of one to one help.

I'd love to have suggestions from all of you out there about good ways to promote the Farmstay and my teaching in your country. Can you help me?
