I am an Italian 34 years old man and I performed a Toeic test in Bkk, last monday, to can have the authorization to be hired from a private school, as sociology teacher in an english program. It was my first attempt and when I had my results I was amazed ..... 965 .....
I tried to upload for your benefit the images of my certificate, but so far I could not result to work out the proper codes .... I can send you by email if you are interested.
Anyway, altought my background includes several years working as an international lawyer in English speaking countries, I still feel I have to thank this site and its administrators, cause I could spend the last 2 weeks reviewing and, litterally, disfruiting all the free materials collected here.
Overall, the 260 TOEIC listenings was very useful to me, cause I found very hard, in my first approach to them, to mantain that much of concentration to can read the questions while hearing the short talks. Acquiring a good method on that, made me easy to perform a 495/495 in the listening section.
..... now, I will be happy to give back some help, as much as I can, answering your eventual questions and giving impressions about my personal experience.
Kindest regards Andrea Brancaccio |

Congratulation Mastopup!! After reading your message it makes me eager to practice my English more and also makes me a bit confident. I'm going to do the TOEIC test this March, but I'm not sure about my English, especially the listening part. I did the test 2 years ago and my score was 670, listening 285, and grammar 385. So, now I would like to change my job and I have to do the test again. I would appreciate it if you could give me some advice about this test. I found this site very useful and I did do the TOEIC listening test in this forum, but my score was very little. I'm not good at listening. What can I do to improve it? I am a Thai woman, 33 years old, live and work in Bangkok, Thailand. Many thanks in advance.
Best regards Mon. |

The best way to improve your listening skills is, of course, to practice conversation, as much as you can, with native speakers or, anyway, fluent english speakers. To buy some english movies and listen them in the original version can be funny and useful as well.
Remember that in the test you will find, the most of times, more than one plausible answer, but just one correct. In the first 2 sections listen all the answers before than check the box in your sheet. Never look back, don't stop thinking that maybe the answer number xxxx was uncorrect, cause you don't need distractions.
In the short talks and short conversations sections, give a look to the answers on your sheet before the exercise begins, that way you will know what you must focus on.
Try again and again the listenings on this site reading and memorising the questions before than start listening the exercise. Personally I had a very bad impact on the first listenings I performed here, cause I found almost impossible to concentrate on listening while I was reading questions/answers related to the exercise.
Good luck and keep me updated |

Hello everyone! I'm having a job interview tomorrow, but I have no idea to answer the question " What's your strength and weakness?" I used to worked in a hotel as a Senior Receptionist for 1 year, and then I got a promotion to a Qualification director and Training Supervisor. Anyone can help me? How can I give the answer? I'm so nervous because the interviewer is a foreigner. Please recommend. Thanks in advance.
