Regard - Consider in the stated way
Treat - To act or behave towards in the stated way

From dictionary I got the meaning of the above words. But I still do not understand the difference/usage of these words. In Cantonese, we use the word Represent or Equal. I think the words Regard or Treat are much appropriate but do not how to use these two words correctly.

Hope someone can help me. Thanks.

Regard - what I think about a person
Treat - how I behave toward a person
Example: I regard him as a good person (I think he is a good person), I treat him with respect (I behave respecfully toward him).

Dear Milanya,

Thanks for your reply.

For example, if someone ask me the opinion about a group of people, say Management Staff. But I do not know who are the Management staff. Then can I say "I regard Peter is the Management staff". What should I say in English if I want to clarify something like the above question.

What should I say if I want to ask a group of people, e.g. Management staff,
