Sentence: "His face had unnatural green colour."

I would like to ask you about the following sentence:
"His face had unnatural green colour."

Shouldn't that be:
"His face had an unnatural green colour."?

Is there any rule that there is no "an" before a word which begins with "un"?

Hi Comeon,

The use of 'an' before a word is when there is a vowel sound at the beginning of that word. If you wanted to rephrase your first sentence, that would be: His face looked unnaturally green'.
