Hello

Would you mind telling me whether both of the following sentences are correct? My friend believes only the first is right but I insist the first one can be rephrased into the second one.

-The older neighbor had one of his ears cut off and other neighbor took him to the hospital immediately where the doctors could join only a part of his ear.

-The older neighbor had one of his ears cut off and other neighbor took him to the hospital immediately with the doctors joining only a part of his ear.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You need to say: 'the other neighbour'. After 'hospital' the word 'where' makes sense. 'With the doctors joining' seems to be an unrelated phrase that appears to have no function.
