TEACHERS SHOULD ENCOURAGE THEIR STUDENTS TO QUESTION EVERYTHING.
That is a very interesting subject I think I am a kind of person who would question everything for my teachers, but I have to disagree with that. I do not think teachers should encourage students to do that for the following reasons:
First of all, teachers have freedom and different ways to teach a lecture or a subject for classes. I will give you one good example: Actually I have been learning german. In my class there is students from totally different countries like Iran, China, Japan and from Norway as well. And sometimes when the teacher is explaining something new about the grammar, there is some students that question everything while other students in the class feel uncomfortable with those questions.
Second, If a student did not understand a specific topic on the lecture or a determinate subject, I think the teacher should encourage those ones to make an appointment in another time because on that way the other students will not feel that the class had less progress because of all the questions. Some students have more abilities to understand and listen than others and if there is some students in the class that are questioning all the time for example, this will make the class loose time because the teacher will be spending a lot of time trying to answer the questions.
Third, If a teacher is explaining and students interrupt her in the main time, there is a big risk that the teacher will loose the point she was going to make, or even though she might would have explained later on for the question. This happens frequently in my class and I have to agree that a lot of students do not appreciate when other students question everything that they want too because in my class for example, all the students are in the basic level of german but some other students learn quickly what the teacher is explaining while the other just ask for any doubt they complicate the way the class suppose to be. |
