I would prefer: The book turned out to be beautiful, which means that in the end the book looked beautiful and that adjective refers to the noun book and not the verb turned out. If you say something turned out beautifully, you are using the adverb beautifully to describe the process of turning out or being produced. _________________ English as a Second Language You can read my ESL story Present Simple |
