Your question should read "What is a typical, carry-on baggage size?"
Usually, carry-on baggage is larger than a woman's purse but smaller than a suitcase. It must be small enough to fit in the overhead compartment of an airplane. The airlines make the decisions about the sizes and I'm not sure about the exact specifications.
