What is frog-bashing? It seems that this word is specially used in politics

"Frog" refers to the French, is of course an insult and probably derived from their habit of eating frogs' legs.

"XY-Bashing" is a common expression in cultural science and politology, XY standing for the name of a nation or a people. It means creating or fanning a very anti-XY sentiment by printed works, speeches and all kind of media and actions.

I think the term was created in the eighties when America was shocked by Japanese economical success, which spawned a surge of anti-Japanese books, articles and speeches in the US - the so called Japan-bashing.
