Hi Alan and Torsten! Explain, please. Why I must use word "reject"( I want to put word "refuse") in this test:

Test No. incompl/advan-24 "Employment and Training", question 3

Although she was very tempted to accept the job she was offered, she had to ......... the offer because the salary would have been insufficient.

(a) return
(b) reject
(c) refuse
(d) repeat

Correct answer: (b) reject

Hi,

Refuse means say no and reject is not accept.
