Hello,

I don't understand the tenses used in the sentence:At this point, you値l probably have been speaking for at least a few minutes and will be well on your way to building a valuable relationship.

Why not say 'you probably have been speaking?'

Why not say 'on your way to build'?

Thank you.

.
'you値l probably have been speaking'-- this is a view of the future from farther in the future; the whole process is being conceived of as occurring in the future.

'On one's way to + gerund' is the formation here used.
