Hi, my name is Bill and I live in Essen. My reason for joining this site is to try and
" brush-up " on my dusty old English skills. My need to do so arises from requests from my neighbours to help some children with their English homework. I am a very long way from being a qualified teacher, but after having lived through 70 eventful years I feel that I may have something worthwhile to pass on to the younger generation.

Dear Torsten, thank you for your very kind offer of English lessons, but I feel that I have not made my position quite clear enough.

I am an Englishman, and I have been asked by a few neighbours if I would be willing to check and correct their childrens English homework. This I am more than happy to do. Being 70 years of age and retired I have little better to do to fill in my time.
I was browsing your site and was very impressed by the number of people seeking, and offering advice. I thought I would register and perhaps pick-up a few useful hints, and perhaps in turn, pass on a few of my own.
I am not a teacher by any stretch of the imagination, but I have been able to offer some advice already to a few of your foreign enquirers. Hope you have no objection to this. I look forward to many happy times on your site and wish you every success with it.
