My guardian Angel.

An angel watches over me, I see her every night,
She's standing there beside my bed, when I turn off the light.
I can't imagine who she is, or why she visits me,
She stands within a shining light, that only I can see.
It's glow is warm and soothing, it sends me fast asleep,
I know she's there, I know I'm safe, her vigil she will keep.
And when I awake in the mornings light, she gone to whence she came,
But I know tonight that she'll be there, it ever is the same.
Each night she's there, she never speaks, she only ever smiles,
And her smile is oh so welcoming, after all these weary miles.
So I sleep once more, safe in the embrace, of this angelic girl with the angels face.

Granny

Your failing body is bothering you
But your heart is holding on to life
Auntie wants you to live, you want to go
For you it is a struggle and a strife.

The fight within this family
Is reaching the highest heights
Darkness has befallen us
We cannot see the lights.

Clinging to you is all they want
Not thinking of you though
If all this was left up to me
Granny, I’d let you go

All I want is peace for you
No worries and no pain
Keeping you in a nursing home
I can see no gain.

That was a very touching verse Andrea, and I'm sorry I upset you with my reference to the spammer. Had I known it was going to be removed so quickly, then I would not have commented. However, what you did not see, and Mr.M might verify this, is that this guy spammed EVERY thread yesterday. I was fuming !!!

Bill!

Who, may I ask, are you referring to?

You should know by now that spammer posts get deleted, and that anything you might write in response to them or about them will still be there.

The only place for posts like this is the spam clean-up list.

The way it is here now, it looks like you are responding to my post, and to be honest, I don't like it one bit.

Andrea

Andrea, you are not on-line 24 hours. There WAS a post between ours which has been removed in your absence.

You know me better than to think that of me.

Anyway, the post was in reference to a American spammer once again.

I do know that there was a spammer in between us.

My point is, the spammer is gone and your post is still there, looking like you respond to something someone above you said.

It would be far better to refrain from posting such comments at all.

Spammers get deleted and all that's left is a rather enigmatic post of yours in the middle of a thread.

If you want to report a spammer, or make people aware of it, go to the spam clean-up list, there it will be noted by the Mods. and Admin.

But if you had gone to the spam clean-up list you would have known that at that stage he was already reported. I caught him after 2 of his posts and, good little forum poster that I am, I reported it in the right place.

Sometimes you just have to look before you post.

Hmmm, I think I was too busy commenting on Felix's six essays to check the spam list.

I've apologised as best I can.

Bill.

Russian poetry is so nice and deep and I enjoyed a lot. Could you translate into English that song" Ab kay Ham bichray tu shayad kabhi Kuaboon main mileen.

TRANSLATE PLEASE. #56 (permalink) Mon Jul 06, 2009 13:11 pm   TRANSLATE PLEASE.

Mr Ilya Kashmiri.

It is a good idea to write Urdu in Latin script. Non-Urdu readers, who can speak or understand a little bit Urdu could also read Urdu. My knowldge of Urdu is just 1%.
*
Should it not be: “muje lagta hai” and not lugta? May be it is Kashmiri slang?

Since (the moment) I met you
I liked it. (you were my pal.)

Well let me thank you Berlinder ji for correcting me as my Urdu is not 100% either. The reason I spelled it "Lugta" because I had the English word Lug , slug, mug Jug rug and so on...in mind and to me the closest pronunciation was to spell it "Lug+ta." By the way I am only by name Kashmiri My parents were born there, so the Kashmiri got attached to my name. It is more a Cast than anything else. Would you be kind enough to translate the song Farzana is asking for? I liked the way you translated the song you are kidding that you only know 1%. You know more than me so that makes me less than 1 % :o)

Shyone!
You are right but I know Bill he did not intended to have it look like it appears to be. Honestly I too thought he was responding to your post but then when you complained about it I found out what actually happened. Let’s all forget what really happened and talk about the Shyone's "Granny" for a change. The poem is very western it only reflects people who live in Europe or USA. The Eastern world doesn’t send their elders to die in nursing homes. It’s not that they are a third world people and they can't afford it, but for a simple reason that when I was young and dependent for their attention, the very same person nurtured and fed me and took care of every good or silly demands I made and they tailored their lives keeping me as the centre of their lives and now when they are old and feeble yet sometimes a bit fussy just like a baby. Just send them to a nursing facility? It doesn’t sounds fair to me. Other than that the poem is very nice. I apologize if I stepped on any toes and also for my broken English. I guess that’s why I 'm here to fix it. Ha Ha :)

Dear Mr. Ilya Kashmiri!

First I wish to thank you sincerely. It was nice to read your words.
I must with respect and honestly confess my ability is really very very low as regards Urdu and Hindi is concerned. It was my misfortune I did not learn these languages. What I had heard decades ago, is still there only to tiny part, may be even less than one percent.
Else it would have been a pleasure for me to translate anything for you within my aptitude. I am quite good in only three languages: Kannada, English and German. Actually at moment my first language is German, because everything I think-over appears in my mind first in German which I transfer into Kannada or English as required. My hobby is writing something in general mostly poetry and often translating one to another language mentioned above. If you don’t mind send me your Email address. If I find something which could be interesting for you I will forward it you definitely. Occasionally I find one or the other interesting website where Hindi songs are available at youtube. My Email: mavipra@gmx.de

I am not even like a ‘jack of all and master of none’ in Internet Surfing and orientation. I have not yet understood too to surf in our English.net properly. Therefore I asked for your Email. Apart from that in this Forum I cannot exchange other than English learning stuff.

It is quite wonderful to be called Kashmiri. It is a word which stands for beautiful landscapes, nature and world famous wool and shawls. (Let us not think of the conflict).
By the way ‘Ilya’ is a very popular name in eastern European Slavish countries and in Greece, by the latter it was highly popular in the ancient times in literature and history.

What is your mother-tongue? There are some interesting Websites for South Indian languages. I myself like only one about Kannada language. I have no knowledge of other South Indian languages. There, there are one or two nice persons who have high aptitude for Undu and Hindi, whom I can request if they comply with your request to translate the said song etc.

Well so much for now. I hope I will be able to keep in touch with you.

Mr Kitostad,

I am not able to understand the point of discussion 'spammed' etc.
what will be considered as a spam?
I see you have composed a nice poem.
Ma guardian Angel!
like wise is the poem 'Granny' very lovely
full of signifince about a grand person nearly holy.
What is it all about, the fuzzy,
between you and Andrea, looks like a quizzy.
She writes highly versatile equal to any poetess.
I am highly impressed of her provess.
Now I want to ask you politely,
if it is a spam, Poetry composed exquisitely?
Am I allowed to publish here my poetry too?
it could be a fulfilment to me, thank you.
