Hi all,
I don't understand the meaning of this sentence: "Nice to see I'm not the only one round here with the memory of a goldfish."
What does "memory of a goldfish" mean?
Thank you

You forgot to provide the context for this sentence.
What was the reason for this statement? Did he/she say it to somebody, who forgot something?
I have never had a goldfish, but I assume its memory is not very good. Maybe a goldfish's memory has other qualities I do not know about. In order to figure out the meaning I would like to have more input.

Dear Milanya,
this sentence from a mother. She told her daughter this sentence before she went out. The mother always though her daughter had a problem with her imagination. And in fact the mother had a problem with her memory... But I think it is not link to the situation. I think may be "memory of goldfish is a proverb or something like that. I type whole context here:
"-Are you going out? - I asked my Mum
- It's the Bay Residents' AGM. I told you last week.
- Did you?
- Nice to see I'm not the only one round here with the memory of a goldfish."

Context always helps.

- Did you? (Apparently the daughter has forgotten that her mother told her.)
- Nice to see I'm not the only one round here with the memory of a goldfish." (Mother hints that she is not the only one who forgets things)

It seems that there had been a myth that a goldfish memory span was only 3 seconds. But this myth was proved wrong.
