"Should" is used to express advice and recommendation.

You should do all the class assignments.
Nathan should drive more carefully.
It should be a nice day today.

"Had better" is most commonly used to make strong recommendations. It can also be used to express desperate hope as well as warn people.

You had better take your umbrella with you today. recommendation
That bus had better get here soon! desperate hope
You had better watch the way you talk to me in the future! warning

In your example 1. is more common. 2. is OK, but has a stronger sense of urgency.

Hi Noor,

Can you please do me a favour and read this: Grammer vs. grammar

Also, please take a look at this: What is a meaningful title?

As for your question, here is the answer: should vs. had better
