Observation, the act of observing, noticing, taking note of.
Often I go into my local city of Essen and sit at an outdoor-cafe and drink a cup of tea. My reason for doing this is to look at ( observe ) the things going on around me.
The one thing that often strikes me, ( I observe ) is how quickly parents walk when holding very young children by the hand, and appear heedless to the frantic steps of the child in attempting to keep up with its parent.
Next, I notice ( observe ) the modern trend of girls / women to wear jeans, which I see as a giant step backwards in the appearance of girls / women , exceptions being young, figure-conscious girls.
Surely this can be seen as an erosion in the appearance of the female form, especially when worn by overweight females who persist in wearing jeans.
I see ( observe ) the young men, and note ( observe ) their attempts to impress the young women, with their skills when using their skate-boards.
My attention ( observation ) is drawn to another group of young people who are making a nuisance of themselves because of their rowdy behaviour.
I look ( observe ) and chuckle, at the antics of the pigeons, as they scurry and fight over any small scrap of food that may come their way.
I also note ( observe ) the beauty of the architecture of the buildings in the city. A point which is oft-times overlooked by local citizens, and is a great loss to them in not noticing ( observing ) the beauty with which they are surrounded.
We have been blessed with the great gift of sight. Surely it is a gift wasted when only being used to look at ( observe ) the displays in shop windows, and ignoring the natural and man-made beauty that surrounds our daily life.
Open your eyes, and be OBSERVANT. It may change, your outlook on life completely.

I could recollect a quote here --
I was a very observant child. The boys in my books are based on boys in my neighborhood growing up. ~Beverly Cleary

Having a window in your house that overlooks a street certainly livens up your life.
A couple of years ago, I used to live in a place that had a window overlooking a busy street. Whenever I had time, I used to place a chair in front of it and stare out at the people below. I used to like doing it even more while having a cup of tea. I just used to watch -- people hurrying to bus stops, pretty girls laughing out loud (they seemed to do it more when they knew somebody was watching them), guys ogling at girls (pretty or otherwise). It was fun.
I moved in to my new house later. If I look out the window now, I see the wall of the apartment next to mine.

Now, that's what I call a bug in the application. I distinctly remember posting it only once. _________________ Non-native speaker of English
