He should be instead of him ,why?

Both he and him have the same meaning in this situation, although he might have been the better word to use.

" than he has, than him has." Said in this way it seems obvious which to use.

This got me back to what I wrote somewhere else and I should ask a question here.

Which is correct?

1) No one could have got closer to the colours than him.

2) No one could have got closer to the colours than he did.

3) No one could have got closer to the colours than he was.

For me, No 2 is correct. He DID get closer. IMO.
