I am a young learner and I know this sounds silly but I would like the help of someone on this question and if possible exsplain it for me.

Describe as precisely as you can what happens (in manner
and place of articulation) when saying the phrase Queen of
Spades.

manner and point of articulation queen of spades #2 (permalink) Sun Mar 15, 2009 7:13 am   manner and point of articulation queen of spades

Are you studying speech now? If we are to analyse the phrase queen of spades, well you have to IPA them first. /kw ee n of s p ay d z/ sorry, but Im not that tech savvy. dont know how to insert symbols.

/k / is a voiceless glottal sound and it is combined with /w/ a voiced semi=vowel sound
/ee/ is a voiced diphthong and /n/ is a lingua-dental voiced nasal sound. that's for your queen.

/of/ is a combined voiced low back vowel and /f/ is a labia-dental voiceless fricative

/s/ is a voiceless lingua-alveolar fricative sound while /p/ is an aspirated voiceless bi-labial sound, /a/ is a front low voiced vowel , and lastly /d/ is a voiced lingua-dental affricate.
