"firework show" or "firework display"? #1 (permalink) Tue Mar 17, 2009 15:43 pm   "firework show" or "firework display"?

The sentence is that :" The firework ____ had to be cancelled becauseof the bad weather."
A . show B. act C. performance D. display

As in Oxford collocations dictionary , both "display" and "show" can be used with "firework" . Which one should I choose ? Please help me to distinguish between them .

Thanks in advance !

Both are possible, but "firework display" is much more common.
I think this question is flawed.

Neither "show" nor "display" is more common. There is no way to know which answer they want. It is a flawed question.
