Good stuff!

I'm a bit ashamed of my last post since it was so negative... even if it was mostly in jest. So here's an attempt at comedy:

"Franks And Beans"

Tom beheld an item on sale
At the local megastore.
It was not pretty, spritely nor gay
It did not beckon like a whore

Three days hence it had expired
Because it was something none desired
'Twas on sale for forty-one cents
Because its brand was being retired.

To Tom it was a stroke of luck
To find a meal for less than a buck
So up reached Tom to grab the stuff
And that is when Tom's arm got stuck

Not an inch from its goal, his hand would move no closer
So he shook his torso, which hurt his cramped shoulder
And plowed his hand into a nearby toaster

The toaster knocked over the stuff
That would have cost less than a buck
And instead of filling his stomach
Ended up falling past his gut
And impacting a spot somewhat southward.

Howling in pain, Tom dropped to the tile,
Wishing for privacy in this discount aisle
And moaned at the irony of how
A can of franks & beans can bring
Such painful,
Yet anatomically appropriate, bruising.

The Old Tree
11/12/08

The old tree is drawing me close to his side,
I want to touch, feel the energy
And while I do stroke it
I feel it flowing right through me.

I want to spend more time there
Yet I must be on my way
But the energy's still flowing
Whether I go or whether I stay.

The memory of the old tree
And the feel of its energy
Where ever I will go from here
It will stay with me

Failte Andrea, I'm off to bed now. Been here / up since 4 am. Maybe I will sleep better tonight.

I do hope so, as I'm dead on my feet.

Goodnight all.

Lost Love
05/04/07

You said I was your angel,
That's all you want me to be,
I said it can not happen
There's too much of a human in me.

Each day you sent me letters,
Oh, how amazing the words
The words now mean nothing to me
They have turned to swords.

You said you loved me dearly
As loved I had never been
From the day I showed my human side
You were never to be seen

You said you couldn't love someone
Who's not happy every day
But sometimes something happens
That turns me the other way.

You said you could not cope with me
When I needed you the most
Your love and understanding
And now forever it is lost

The day you could not cope with me
You turned around and said
To all your friends that were around
A new love you have met.

Now I sit here, a knife in my heart
That you come to turn each day
It hurts so much that I do wish
You just would go away.

Since you don't go it is my turn
I leave and wish you well
But you can bet, I'll never forget
The day you sent me to hell.

So I go away to take a break
And leave my tears to dry
I will be back when my time has come
Until then it is good bye.

Why did I leave, why did I go ?
I must have known I'd hurt her so.
All the years of love we'd shared,
Giving each our all, with nothing spared.
But then " she " came, and spoiled it all,
Why was I such a fool to fall ?.
Knowing in my heart, that it couldn't last,
Yet so easily, I forgot the past.
The love you gave, and the care you took ,
Yet oh so easily, I forsook.
Her Jezebel smile was all I craved,
Now in the lonely nights I rave,
For the love I had, and threw aside,
If only I'd no foolish pride,
To beg, and plead, " Forgive this fool ",
But well I know, that now you're cool.
The anger which has now abated,
Has transformed itself into bitter hatred.
So now a bitter price I pay,
And wake to face another day.
A lonely day, in a foreign land,
Alone to walk, without your hand.
Without your kiss, without your smiles,
I face alone, the endless miles.

Man, that was morbid. Please someone, give me a new theme. I'll do my best. Promise.

What about that? Have a laugh.

The Cat
05/28/08

I have a cat, and she is a pet
At least for most of the time
But when she starts her bawling
I want to commit a crime

When she starts her bawling
She does it day and night
But I do need my beauty sleep
You'll understand my plight

Though the cat is neutered
She still goes into heat
And I have to get quick to the vet
Her needs for pills to meet

She started bawling on Monday
I had no time to go
I pledged to her if she don't stop
Out of the window I will her throw

She still was bawling Tuesday
I had no sleep all night
And I started shouting at her
And sure she got a fright

Wednesday I took the time
And marched her to the vet
Since then she has taken her measure of pills
And now she's again a real pet

Nice!

"The Plight of the Worm"

Ever heard the tune that goes
"Nobody loves me, everybody hates me...
"Guess I'll go eat worms!"?
Well how would you like to be the butt
Of that depressed whiner's joke?

Yes, I'm a worm, the only one who writes
I'm the one you trample on when you're out flying kites.
You use me for fishing -- I beat any fake lure out there
But woe are my kind when we're immersed and gasping for air.

And that's before we're swallowed whole by a fish.
How would you like to be drowned for a couple minutes
And then be swallowed by something that smells worse than stinky armpits?

We worms are nature's dirt-merchants:
We aerate and till the soil to help men sow their oats
And the thanks we get is a ton of liquid manure
Spread on our soily homes.
When someone quips, "That tastes like crap!"
We actually have the poor fortune to know what he means.

When it rains, we drown,
Unless we can gain a few extra minutes by finding some pavement
On which to drown less quickly.
And even if we make it through the watery holocaust
We then have to deal with birds, who eat us
Or mean little kiddies, who break us in half:
"Thanks, you little bastard, now there's two of me,
"To enjoy double this dose of blasted misery!"
Or walkers oblivious to their surroundings
Who step on us.
So rain pretty much sucks.

We can't see for shit;
We can't smell anything;
Sex in't that great:
How would you like your entire body to be wrapped in a condom-like sheath? Huh?
We can't have safe sex, but it always has to feel like it.

We're born and immediately lose track of our parents
And we can't see, smell or hear anything, so it's "Bye, mama!" and that's it.
And next time you're worried about a bad kissing experience, well
At least you can tell the difference between your date's butt and his or her face
Many a time -- well I won't even go there.

We're friggin' buried alive, for cryin' out loud!
All we're missing is a skirt to wear as a burial shroud
We're preyed on by everything;
Which brings me back to birds:

If rain, fish, manure-poisoning or footsteps don't get us,
Our manner of exit is likely to be as a meal for a bird
And then we sit in the bird's tummy for a few minutes
-- and i hear that being partially digested is incredibly painful --
Before being vomited into a baby bird's mouth.
That's right, we're eaten twice and end up as a puke sandwich in the process.

We can't walk, we'll never know what it's like to win anything,
We have no hands, let alone opposable thumbs,
We're mildly moist so unless we're being drowned by rain
Or drowned in a lake, we're pretty much always covered in mud.

So no matter how crappy you think your life is --
You got a bad perm, you caught a bad germ, you'll flunk out this term --
Be joyful! At least you're not a worm.

Friend
06/08/07

You came into my life,
An angel of light,
Just when I needed you.
You listen to me,
Not to my words,
But to my feelings.

You are with me,
Always understand
What I'm not saying.
You make me laugh
When I'm sad and lonely,
And I do the same for you.

Two lonely souls,
Meeting out there somewhere
Where nobody can watch them.
There is no disturbance
In the hearts and lives
Of friends like us.

Destiny. A lovers thoughts.

No-one can change, what is destiny.
Can't re-arrange, what is meant to be.
Things that have since happened,
And things we still don't know,
Were written in the sands of time,
Long, long ago.
We had to meet, that was destiny,
And what had to be, simply had to be.
Now, I have the answer,
I possess the key.
Here in my heart ,
I've found my destiny.

Fate
04/14/09

Destiny is not the way
Just the end of the road
And at every corner and junction
Sits fate, awaiting us.

What direction will we take?
Is there a sideway to let us turn off?
And everywhere we go
Fate sits and smiles

The smile is not always pleasant
Fate is a shrewd old hag
She can take away so much
And give so little in return

On other days she’s generous
She gives us all we crave
Only in a change of mood
To take it all away

Fate is the one who bends the road
No matter where we go
So whatever our intention my be
We arrive at the destined goal

Fate will not be cheated
For that she deals out punishment
It makes the road just longer and harder
And you do what you have to do in the end.

There are corners out there,
You know they're waiting somewhere,
And you've got to be prepared to turn.
