Learning with lyrics. ( Long boring post. )

As I was having my annual shower last night, I was singing one of my favourite songs, and it occurred to me, that within the lyrics, were some interesting tense changes.

If you are still awake I shall continue ..... the song is, " Where or when ", sung by the late-departed Frank Sinatra, who sounds remarkably similar to me, especially in the bathroom. OK, let's get on with it.:-

It seems we stood and talked like this before.
We looked at each other in the same way then,
But I can't remember, where or when.

PATIENCE, I'm getting there ....

The clothes that you're wearing are the clothes you wore .
The smile you are smiling you were smiling then,
But I can't remember where or when.
Some things that happened on that first time,
