I have a doubt,it's correct ;Can you tell between butter and margarine?,a friend of mine said to me an english idiom ;you can't tell between your elbow and your ass,is it correct ?

With regard to the difference between butter and margarine, please read Mister Micawber's post (#2) above.

'You can't tell your a**e from your elbow' is a common vulgar English expression, not to be used in polite circles, which means 'You are very confused.'
