hello everyone,

what is the difference between apprehend and comprehend?
kindly explain with example sentences if possible.

are they similar in meaning but used in context.

We seldom if ever use 'apprehend' as a synonym of comprehend (= understand); that meaning is dated. 'Apprehend' is now used with its more concrete meaning of 'seize; arrest' and, in its adjective form, 'anxious, worried'.

How about using 'apprehend' in the sense of 'forebode'?

I don't think that I have ever heard or read anyone use it that way. Just 'apprehensive'.
