Some people prefer to work for themselves or own a business. Others prefer to work for an employer. Would you rather be self-employed, work for someone else, or own a business? Use specific reasons to explain your choice.

In the recent years with the demand for different skills, experiences and qualifications increasing, the job market has become competitive. Nevertheless, I will prefer to work for an employer. Reason being, to run a business person requires lots of experience and fund. In business there is high risk and high return. Whereas in doing job I will have take just take care of my responsibilities towards my employer. While working as employee I can achieve responsible post with less risk or I can say there is no direct risk.

I think, self-employment and business requires ample of knowledge and experience and above to all of this, it is not possible to run business without money. Whereas, I can work in any apex organization on the basis of my qualification and knowledge. There are various advantages in working for employer. First of all I will start getting revenue without any investment. Second advantage of doing job is, there is less responsibility in comparison to business. Working for other employer will help me in maintaining proper schedule. There is less mental stress in job. I will be able to switch to other company in adverse conditions like recession. Like son has less responsibility, when he lives with his father and once he starts living his own life his responsibilities and stress both increases. I think there is same relation between employer and employee. Employer is like father who is bearer of all risk and stress whereas employee is like son who has to just follow his guidance. I think job will give me more opportunity to work at different regions of country and outside country, because of transfers and opportunity of switching.

At last I think, in job there is more freedom, less risk, zero investment and lots of opportunity. In job there are chances of getting new jobs once one loses existing. At the same time if business closes it is hard to recover again easily.

Hi, friends! I send my essay. Please someone correct it and give me some advise how to do better. I would be happy if you could rate it as well. I am taking TOEFL in 3 weeks. Thank you in advance.


I like to be surrounded by my friends. I love my family. Spending time with my kids is so enjoyable. I feel happy if I can be useful for someone, but when it comes to work, I prefer working for myself. There are some very important reasons such as responsibility and communication with other people that make me feel this way.

First of all, working for myself I don't have to deal with an employer. Moreover, I don't have to obey him and work the way he thinks is the best and most effective. I might have a different opinion about some aspect or I might disagree completely with my employer. Even if I had a different view about some part of a job, I would have to perform myself in the way which is accepted by a company I work for. Thus, it would be really sad to have chance to perform myself in such a narrow way. In fact, people spend the biggest part of their day at work ,and they definitely want to have some kind of satisfaction of what they are doing. Working for an employer wouldn't give me any satisfaction. In addition, it would make me feel unusefull. I like to think about developing of my own business, to be in charge of everything what is going in, and if it is necessary, to find a solution of fixing my mistakes. We all do mistakes, but when mistake is done at a company, usually there are more than one person responsible for that. On the contrary, if something goes not as it was suspected in my own business, this will be my concern and my responsibility. And I like that. I like to carry great responsibility, I like to see my mistakes, I like to learn from them, and I like to look for a solution how to fix it.

Another important reason why I prefer working for myself rather than for an employer is communication. Working for myself I don't have to deal with other people, and that doesn't mean that I don't like people at all. When I work, I like to be concentrated on what I am doing. Interruption, jokes, unnecessary small talks would nettle me. At least if it is a really intense period of time of the business.

In conclusion, there are many jobs where we can express ourselves in the most comprehensive way. Taking in consideration that we spend so much time at work, we should try to find a job where we could realize most of ourselves. It is difficult to imagine myself every morning going to work which I really don't appreciate or dislike. Working for myself would give me greater opportunity to do my work better.
