A friend of yours told me a thing about you yesterday.

and

A photo of you doing such thing.

I got confused why I use yours in the first sentence but I have to use you in the second one. The two constructions seem alike.

Thanks very much.

Hi,

In this sentence:

A friend of yours told me a thing about you yesterday. This means one of your friends.

In this sentence:

A photo of you doing such thing. (You need to say either 'such a thing' or 'such things' ) You are talking about a photograph which you are in/which shows a picture of you.
