Let's go to the greasy spoon down the road from my place. I like little diners that serve fried food and prepare it really quickly.

It is a nick-name used for working mens cafes / caravans, usually found on the lay-bys of main roads in England. Long distance drivers are the main users, although they can also be found in towns, when they would be a cafe or diner.
