How we pronounce the article "The"?

I want to be sure about how we pronounce "The " .Are there two ways depending on the first letter of the following word.(consonant or vowel).
EX. The apple.....The door..

Hi Wesam,

The same rule applies as for 'a' and 'an' - in other words 'the' with a long 'e' before a vowel sound (as 'an') and 'the' with a short 'e' (as with 'a') before a consonant as in your examples: the apple the door..
