Applying for a job: Due to a different management styles we had different... #1 (permalink) Mon Mar 30, 2009 23:02 pm   Applying for a job: Due to a different management styles we had different...

Hi I am applying for a job and had to answer some questions regarding team work and gaining other people`s commitment. I was wondering whether my answer is structured properly.

Recently I was on the team of 4 and involved in a two-day business simulation where we had to run a company. Due to a different management styles we had different strategies in mind, for me personally, it was important to acknowledge and respect everyone`s opinion. I suggested analyzing each strategy in the terms of advantages and disadvantages to gain everyone`s attention and commitment, what resulted in creation of one strategy to which we all agreed and felt committed. It was important to appreciate each individual input as it fostered atmosphere of team work toward common objective.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
Cheers

Pitro, I think you are doing great work. Just a suggestion, if you don't mind.

Recently I was on the team of 4, and involved in a two-day business simulation, where we had to run a company.

Due to different management styles we each had different strategies in mind.

Initially, my thoughts were that it was important to acknowledge and respect everyone's opinion.

I suggested analysing each strategy in the terms of advantages and disadvantages, so as to gain everyone`s agreement and commitment.

The outcome was, that we did agree on one strategy, to which we all felt totally committed.

It was important to appreciate each individual input, as it fostered a team atmosphere ,and was conducive in all working toward a common goal..

Hi, many thanks Kitosdad for your advice, greatly appreciate. Was wondering if u can give me suggestions on my other answers.

I think the most energy consuming responsibilities essay assignments as they require analyzing enormous amounts of data. Therefore, in order to write high quality essays and met the deadlines I have always planned in advance all my activities to ensure that I have enough time for studying and my part-time job. I found also important taking brakes while studying and doing sports, what in my case is playing football or going to the gym, as it helps me to energize, stay efficient and have a fresh approach to the coursework I am dealing with.]

thanks

I find essay assignments to be the most energy consuming of tasks, as they require the analysing of enormous amounts of data if one is to produce an impressive essay.

Therefore, in order to write high quality essays, and to meet deadlines, I always plan my course of action well in advance.

Setting aside time for my leisure activities is also a very important aspect of my forward planning. It is essential to be well rested and relaxed before settling down to the task before us , and I personally achieve this by having a part-time job, and by attending a gymnasium.

Having physically prepared myself, I find it far easier to approach my course work with a completely fresh and open mind.
