A run-on sentence is really two sentences that should be separated by some kind of punctuation mark but are not.

Many examples of this can be found on-line.

Nana, you're not supposed to use run-on sentences at all. You're supposed have clear beginnings and endings to your sentences.

Many of my Arabic-speaking students fail their writing exams because they pay no attention to where sentences should start and end, and their writing consists largely of run-on sentences.

Learn not to use run-on sentences.
