Perhaps, more commonly expressed as " maybe ".
" I know a man who lives near you, perhaps ( maybe ) you know him."
"I am reading a book by Jeffrey Deaver, perhaps ( maybe ) who might of heard of him " _________________ Keep it simple ... Keep it interesting. |

Kitosdad, I'm sorry, but I can't understand this sentence. More precisely the last part: "...perhaps who might of heard of him". Could you explain this to me, please? |

The same here. Maybe this should simply read "you might have heard of him". _________________ Learning is a sacred engagement. |

Hi folks, my main point was that maybe is more commonly used than perhaps.
Again, apologies, " who " was supposed to be you. My error.
.perhaps you might of heard of him".

The question is if this should be "you might of heard of him" or "you might heard of him"? _________________ Learning is a sacred engagement. |

"you might of heard of him" is correct.
You could also say, " You may have heard of him ." " Maybe you've heard of him. " _________________ Keep it simple ... Keep it interesting. |

I think saying or writing 'you might of' instead of 'you might have' is common mistake made by native speakers of American English.

Ouch, but Torsten, I'm not American. Let's split hairs and say,
" You've heard of him, perhaps .?
