I need some help here. If anybody can tell me what would you recommend me for New SAT books. I am choosing either one from College Board, Barron's, or Princeton Review (Cracking the New SAT).

Thank U!

Hi Kevster!
I think CB's books are best. Many people also recommend the Cracking Series, but I'm not sure about books by Princeton Review.
BTW, when are U taking the New SAT?

I would choose the College Board one because College Board is the test maker.
Barron's,I heard,is also good if you want more resources after you finish studying Official Study Guide.
I thought Princeton is a big easier than the actual test.

I would buy a Barron's and also the official SAT book.

SAT reuses tests, prompts and critical reading sections, so it's highly likely that they might even pull one out from their official book as a bonus for choosing their version. :)

However, Barron's has lots of tips and tricks. My suggestion is to work three practice tests from Barron's, and three from the official SAT book. You should be good after that. :)

CollegeBoard hands down. Basically because a friend of mine has used the book and she made a 2200. I have the latest McGrawhill. Does it really matter who wrote it?

The College board's official study guide has 8 sample SAT tests. It is as close to the real college board SAT test's. You can also get Answers and Explanations by Peter Tanguay on amazon. It gives the full explanations on the best way to answer every question in every section. Good luck:)

Yeah, get the official book. Take the online SAT test, which actually gives you a legitimate score instead of the score ranges the book gives you. I took the online score, and rushed it, however, completing it in only like 1 hour, (so don't do that or you won't get an accurate projection of your score and what you need to work on) and got a 2110. That was a miscalculation, as I had already gotten a 215 on my PSAT, and jumped 160 points to my SAT score from that, with the help of the book.

I really like the books at www.my-sat.com as well (obviously, I'm always recommending them to people :P) But with the big name books, I think most of them are great. I personally think Kaplan and Princeton Review can be a little easy if you want top scores, and they also include a lot of excess promoting their trademarked methods. CollegeBoard and BB are good--but I'd try a variety of materials.
