Alora, welcome. I find it very funny, but there is an element of truth in what your friend says.

You really need to spend as much free time as you can afford, here on these
various threads. Read a lot of Alan's stories on the home page, paying particular attention to the points on grammar. If you have a headset, then listen to the recordings too.

It isn't easy I know, but with a great deal of effort on your part, I'm sure you can reach a good level in a short time. You appear to have decent writing and spelling skills. you only need more practice.
