Hi,

This idiom: There is no accounting for taste means: You can't explain why some people like/prefer certain things, which others don't like/prefer.

This is an expression that is a little sarcastic. You would say it if for example you were shown how someone had decorated their room. You think the colours are too bright and do not go well together and you can't understood why anyone would like it.
