Confusion is the inability to think with your usual speed or clarity. When confused, you have difficulty focusing your attention and may feel disoriented.
In your very own day to day world you may well consider yourself the master of all that you do and survey, but oh, what a state of confusion arises within you, when you attempt to do something that you feel is completely beyond your abilities and understanding.
That's exactly how I feel when I sit down and attempt to understand the grammar of the German language. It is all so confusing.!!!!! Damn, even little German children can speak German better than I.
And the reason for that is, that they are not old enough to be confused. They simply accept whatever they hear, eventually understand, and speak.
Not like we adults who have a whole lifetime of comparative language stored away in our heads. We immediately try to make the word into something that we are already familiar with, and we can't, so we become confused.
You on the other hand, may be a master craftsman in your homeland, but oh, those foreign holiday makers get you so confused with their strange sounding words and gestures. The easy answer is to learn their language.
All the better to understand them next year when they return, but it is so CONFUSING.!!
