Hello Mr. Kitosdad..
As to me my current pronunciation is not bad, but I'm not worried about the future of my pronunciation, because I think I have the feature of imitation.. but i'm worried about how much time do I need to have more vocabulary and use them correctly. how much time do I need to improve my listening to understand native speaker or unnative speaker when he/she speaks English . now let me tell you the greatest difficulty that I'm facing in learning English..
it is : ..

the forgetting. :!:
. .
I'm really suffering from that problem.
Thank you for wonderful topics.

My biggest problem is that over the day I have no access to the Internet, and when I come home I have forgotten what I wanted to ask. _________________ No comment |

Jam, I can hear a slight trace of surrender coming into your mind.
Don't you dare.!!! You have came so far, and think back to how little you did know a year ago.
Jam, if it was easy, then I would be able to speak and understand fluent German, but I can't, because it isn't easy.
You are doing great. I just wish I was there to give you a little shake.!! Don't despair.
Forget the difficult grammar. That will fall into place as you listen and read more. Don't try to cram everything into your head in one sitting. Read a paragraph from a book, and go over it several times until it sinks in. If it is difficult, then find a paragraph that is easier to understand. Try to memorise it, and repeat it to yourself during your work.
Please keep us informed of your progress, preferably on a weekly basis.
Send me a weekly PM if you wish, but DO NOT GIVE UP.!!!

Dear Kitosdad..
Do we really have to worry about the accent in English speaking...some people like Jamie(K) always criticize the way we Indians speak the European Language clearly without any accent... what is your comment...?
Please it is disturbing my mind for a long time..

Sahid, I'm sorry for the late reply. Well, I've said it before, and I don't mind repeating it,
" I just love your accents ". All of them. And I would discourage you from losing them.
They are part of the real and original YOU. What is important, is the fact that people understand what you are saying.
Accents are the very essence of your nationality. They make you sound interesting and somewhat romantic. How many men tried to sound like Charles Boyer in the past.? :) :)
No Sahid, you keep your accent. Concentrate on being as clear as you can possibly be when speaking, and you will be well received in Britain.
ps. How many Americans can sound British.? _________________ Keep it simple ... Keep it interesting. |

Do not worry about your accent, from what I've heard you are good to understand. An accent is a very personal part of ourselves, it's unique to everyone of us.
I'm very proud of mine, because it represents me and I know that people are able to understand me.
As to Jamie (K), who wants to sound like he is speaking with a mouth full of hot potatoes? I don't. _________________ No comment |
