1) People of Europe are very friendly and helpful by nature.
2) People from Europe are very friendly and helpful by nature.

What's the difference between the sentences above?

Does sentence #1 suggest that you are an outsider living in Europe at the time of making this comment?

Does sentence #2 suggest that you are making this comment by observing people who came from Europe and are living in your continent ?

Hi daemon,

I would say 'People of Europe' suggests more that you are addressing them in a rhetorical way. In the same way that someone from another country would come to USA to make a speech and begin by saying: People of America, I would like to ....

'People from Europe' suggests all those people who live in Europe as in: People from Europe have to obtain a special licence to ...
