Grammar help: Past, perfect and future #1 (permalink) Thu Apr 16, 2009 1:32 am   Grammar help: Past, perfect and future

Hi..

i try to learn English :)
i need some help

i have an article i wrote it by myself 8)

i want to check my grammar in my article its in present tense is that any wrong in my article?
------------------------------------------------
(the article)-present tense-
I go to college five days a week.
I go at 9 o'clock, And come home at 2 o'clock.
I have a break about one hour.
In the break, I stay with my friends and talk about the study, and how to get high marks.
And help each other.
-------------------------------------------------

if there are no any mistakes in my article i want for you another help
i want for you to write this article(my article) 3 times
i told you how
1-first write my article by starting with (10 years ago)-past tense-.
2- write it again the same article by starting with (since 2004)-perfect tense-.
3- write it again the same article by starting with (next year)-future tense-.

after you write them i will recording them because i should (listen) to them every day.
because the best way to learn grammar is by our ears not just by our eyes 8)

and thanks :)

I go to college five days a week.
I go at 9 o'clock, And come home at 2 o'clock. 'And' should be lowercase, 'and'
I have a break about one hour.
If you mean that your break lasts for one hour, then 'I have a break for about one hour.'
If you mean that your break begins an hour from now, then 'I have a break in about an hour."
In the break, I stay with my friends and talk about the study, and how to get high marks. 'During the break, I stay with my friends and talk about our studies, and how to get high marks.'
And help each other. Is this supposed to be a new sentence? If so, it's a fragment and makes no sense. If it's supposed to be a part of the sentence, above, then why did you begin it with a capital letter and start it on a new line?

If it was supposed to be a part of the above sentence, then I'd say something like 'During the break, I stay with my friends, and we talk about our studies, how to get high marks, and help each other.'

Hanan, why don't you try writing your sentences in the past and future tenses, and we'll correct them if necessary?

Also, there is no 'perfect tense'. Do you mean past perfect, present perfect, or future perfect?

If you want to talk about something that you started in 2004, and are still doing today, then you actually need to use the present perfect continuous.

Skrej, whilst you humour is humorous, your Avatar is threatening. Can you not find a pretty picture of yourself instead. I would like to see your threatening self.
No cheating mind .... a picture of you, not Rocky.

[color=red]because i wrote sentences in (microsoft word) and i saw green underline under each first word in every sentences, but i know i shuldn't write article like that every sentences alone.

========================================================

write sentences by myself is agood idea. i will write them.

Every day, I received e-mail messages for learning english..
and this is a part for one of mail messages.

v
v
(the part)........they talk about a student.

First she listened to a short story in the present tense. She listened to it everyday.

Then, she listened to the exact SAME story-- but this time it started with "10 years ago...." She learned to "feel" the past tense by listening to this story.

Next, we gave her the exact same story. This time, it started with "Since 2004..." Miyuki learned to FEEL the perfect tenses by listening to this story.

Finally, we gave her the exact same story... beginning with "Next year". She learned to FEEL the future tense simply by listening to this story.

(another part)
Find a story or article in the present tense. Then ask your native speaker tutor to write it again in the Past, with Perfect tenses, and in the Future. Finally, ask him to read and record these stories for you.

====================================================

I dont know which perfect tenses they mean  mybe all of them
now i will just try with (since 2004) -present perfect continuous-

I wrote the articles check them :)
