I want to know the logic behind the uses of the words 'have' and 'has'.for eg i knw tht the sentence-
The poem does not have a rhyming scheme is correct and the poem does not has a rhyming scheme- is incorrect but whats the explanation behind it?please expain

Hi Amby,

If you want to make a verb negative in the Present Simple, you use the right form of 'do' and the infinitive of the main verb. Examples: I understand - I do not (I don't) understand I see - I do not (I don't) see The poem has a rhyming scheme - The poem does not (doesn't) have.
