What is the difference between sweat and perspiration?

what is the difference between SWEAT and PERSPIRATION ?Does PERSPIRATION have any figurative use?Please, help .

'Perspiration' is formal; 'sweat' is informal. 'Sweat' has figurative use, of a sort: 'Don't sweat the small stuff'; 'No sweat'.
