Getting to know you, getting to know all about you. Yes indeed Bernice, you are down in my little book as , perceptive, but oh so a lazy-bones. Get a grip girl.
You have the makings of a very good writer because of your perception.
OK, I'll do it, under protest, but not again if you don't buck up.! OK.?

My opinion is, that if a child is well mannered or not depends on the " education " he or she is being given at home, and this make all parents teachers to their children. But this doesn't mean parents are the best teachers in the educational sense. When a child is born it's parents have a duty to cater, educate and love their child, but these are mostly obligations, since they brought us into this world.
Parents can teach children up to a certain point in their lives, after which, they have to leave space for other people to also teach them other aspects of growing up, especially integration, which they will find in their schoolrooms.
Here they learn to socialise with their equals, and form friendships outside of the family environment. This helps enormously in their maturing, and in developiment of social graces which they will not necessarily find at home.
To be more specific, some parents are so close to their children that their children take them for granted, and fail to show them deserved respect . A parents love is a very vital part of growing up. Doing so in a family filled with love and respect for one another results in a well balanced young adult.
I don't think parents can take upon themselves the duty of educating their children. Some try, and the result is usually abysmal failure, which leads the child to feel inadequate and unintelligent, whilst in the classroom they can witness others experiencing the same difficulties, to the same, or lesser extent. This adds to the feeling of being " normal ".
Teachers fill a very vital role in the development of a young child, and with their training and experience can set the child on the right road to even further development. This a parent, no matter how loving, can ever hope to achieve.
In conclusion, love and moral development is best taught in the home environment, whilst educational requirements are best left to the experts ... the Teachers.
