Hi,

'Persuade' and 'convince' can be different ways of making someone believe what you believe. 'Persuade' suggests you are trying to make someone believe what you want as in: The advertisement wants to persuade you to buy this product by describing some of its beneficial effects.

'Convince' suggests you have been successful in your persuasion as in:

If you buy this product, it is clear that the advertisement has made you believe the beneficial effects and has therefore convinced you to buy it.
