I am a new member in this forum. I am from the Philippines and will be taking the TOEFL test soon. Please check/rate my essay. What do I need to improve on?Thank you.
TOPIC: Even though it maybe scientifically possible in the future for people to live to 200 years old, it is not in the world's best interest for them to do so. What are the advantrages and disadvantages of people living to 200?
With the advances in medicine, in the future it maybe scientifically possible for people to live to 200 years. However, it is not at world's best for them to do so. Older people can be lonely, will have health issues hence, needs constant caring. On the other hand , younger people can benefit from older people's wisdom and learn from it. Older people can spend more time with their family and enjoy life to the fullest.
Firstly, people living to 200 years can have more time to bond with their family and can participate in every activities like taking family vacation together and can enjoy life. Consequently, younger people while in the company of older people can benefit from their wisdom and learn from their experiences for instance in choosing what course to take in college or what career path they will choose.
People living to 200 years are likely to have health problems and they will require constant caring. Caring for the sick can put pressure on family members especially if they are busy with work. In addition, government has to allocate more budget for their hospitalization. Older people left alone in the house can be lonely, less interaction will make them sluggish and melancholic.
To sum up, if people live to 200 years they can either be lonely or happy.
