Is it true that we should not use present perfect continuous tense to describe habitual activities unless they have been happening continuously over the period mentioned?

I have been reading Times magazine for three years.

Is the above sentence incorrect?

There seems to be a spate of this question on the forums. The answer is 'no', unless it causes semantic confusion. Your sentence is fine (but it's Time magazine).
