| I had given songs to my same classes/students with different grades for seven years. I chose the songs based on the topic we discussed; about tenses, certain pronunciation, etc. The exercises were in individual or group with various activities for each session; filling the blanks of the lyrics, completing the lyrics, arranging the lyrics per sentence or entire lyrics, etc, then posting the comments with simple words in oral/written, or creating new lyric . Once I gave a song told a story, example 'Sad Movies' (Boney M.), students had fun with the rhythm and the story itself but they learned the structure of the sentences. |

Hi VOLCANO 1985
The choice of song depend on who you are. If you're the teacher for example you can give a song which provide listening and pronounciation skills. So the song will be interesting or funny too.It may talk about daily life, general truth, fight against injustice, war, AIDS or love why not? I take an example of love song which concern the gift of flowers bunch during valentine feast. I begue you to follow please:
Box of candy in the big great heart I will send it with all my love, with all my love
CHORUS
Will you be my valentine ? Will you love me all the time? How will I know your love is true? When will you say to me, I love you? ------ Bench of flowers in a big great heart You send to me with all your love With all your love.
Thanks a lot and see you

HO! VOLCANO 1985
Ok I see now, my best singer among the african singers are Luky Dube and Alpha Blondy the reaggemen whose song are engaged. I have got a deep respect toward the other singers who use english as a native language, sometimes It's difficult to understand the meaning of the word when it is the native english singers. If you catch the meaning of each word from the song this can strenghtened you understanding skills. The Hip hop singers are also the best users of english.
See you
