which type of letter should it be? #1 (permalink) Sun May 03, 2009 23:32 pm   which type of letter should it be?

Hi everyone,

I have a simple question here. My professor is a German and i want him to write a letter(English) to my sponsor to explain that i need extra one month to complete my dissertation in order for me to get extension of my scholarship. What kind of letter should it be? Recommendation letter or reference letter? Is there any example that i can give to him? He does not well about how it would like in English..

Thx in advanced
