Medical assistant? Wed Jul 20, 2005 22:24 pm  Medical assistant?

Hi Alice,

Welcome to our forum. Now that you have been living 8 years in the US you are probably bilingual? It's good you want to advance in your career. How long does it take to become a medical technician assistant and what are the requirements?
Regards
Torsten

Hi, I'm new! Thu Jul 21, 2005 3:38 am  Hi, I'm new!

Hi,
Yes, I'm trilingual. I speak English, French, and Creole.
The requirements to be a medical assistant are high school diploma, the ability to speak English, to write English, and to understand English. It will take me one year to complete the training program. Now, I need more English to more comfortable to the program. How can help me with this?

Glossary? Thu Jul 21, 2005 15:26 pm  Glossary?

In your training program there will be specific terms and phrases. Maybe you should start your own personal glossary in which you write down any new words you come across when you read your study materials. This could be an effective method of learning new vocabulary. What do you think?

Alice, if you like you can share your learning experiences with us here. For example, you might want to create a study plan and we can tell you what it could look like. Or you can even start a blog. You will benefit a lot from it.
