Have you got -- yes I do? #1 (permalink) Wed May 06, 2009 15:56 pm   Have you got -- yes I do?

Hi,

From time to time I hear native speakers answer the question 'Have you got...?' with 'Yes, do.' and 'Do you have...?' with 'Yes, I have'.

How common is this?
Thanks,
Torsten

'Have you got...?' would normally get the reply, " Yes, we have."

ps. I HATE the word got. Much nicer to ask, " Do you have? "
